Chas Housing Aid has specialist housing advisers who can offer you free, expert advice on a wide range of housing issues. Our services are open to anyone who needs it, including advice on:
- Homelessnes
- Rent or mortgage problems
- Problems with your Landlord
- Disrepair
- Housing Benefit
Our aim is to prevent homelessness and we can do this by:
Dealing with Housing or Council Tax Benefit problems from chasing up delays in claims being processed, appealing against adverse decisions and taking cases on to tribunal.
Negotiating with landlords, both social landlords and private, regarding making payments of rent arrears
Negotiating with mortgage lenders
We are also able to represent clients who have rent and mortgage arrears at County Court if we have suitable prior notice. (Note, if we cannot see you before the hearing there will be representatives from Keyhouse Advice Service at Bradford County Court on Mondays to cover mortgage hearings and every other Wednesday for rent hearings)
We do not have our own accommodation but can provide advice on how to find accommodation and the options that are available to you.
